Stronger Together

We are delighted to announce that Children of Songea Trust are joining forces with Tanzanian charity Watoto Trust to become one organisation, Children of Songea. This new organisation will harness the skills and expertise of our volunteers to build a better future for vulnerable children in Tanzania.

In 2015, we helped establish Watoto Trust in Tanzania, partnering with them to deliver direct support to children and families through education, health and habitat programmes. This partnership has proved to be a great success and, together, we have built our reputation in the local community that we serve.

We collectively feel that the next natural step is for us to become one organisation, reducing organisational overheads and ensuring that our board consists of trustees from Scotland and Tanzania. We’ll profile our new Tanzanian trustees in the coming weeks – we’re excited to tell you all about them!

We remain ambitious about what we can achieve for vulnerable children in Songea, and hope that we can encourage more people to support our life-saving programmes. Thank you to everyone who has supported Children of Songea Trust over the years, we hope you will continue to donate and give your time to help us achieve our goals. Your support will help our new organisation to go even further towards helping families in Songea.
