The Kijiji Project aims to create an inspiring space for learning and healthy living.
This is more than a building project; Kijiji, which means 'village' in Kiswahili, is about building a community enterprise that helps carers to gain skills and livelihoods, and support children and young people to reach their full potential.
We aim to create a better world for children and families affected by poverty and HIV/AIDS in Tanzania. It is vital that children, young people and carers have access to facilities that inspire learning and support them to grow and develop.
The Kijiji Project is a partnership with an Edinburgh-based architect and other skilled volunteers from Scotland. It is based on ecological design principles and aims to fully involve the local community in designing and building this new learning village.
We need your help to raise the funds for building materials and labour in Tanzania. 100% of the funds raised for The Kijiji Project will go directly towards meeting the cost of materials and labour.
